In response to our 2021/22 priority in regards to pressure care management, Truly Pinkarchevski, Team Manager, Promoting Independence (Reablement and Sensory Needs) Reablement Team at West Berkshire Council, has produced this video.

Pressure Care Awareness Sessions – added March 22

Aimed at those working with individuals at risk of developing pressure sores, these events will cover: What are pressure ulcers?, What are the common sites of occurrence? and What are the categories…

There will be refreshments available and games/quizzes on the day. Please see leaflet for further information.

Postural Management Service – updated January 2022

Is a single point of access for West of Berkshire Care Home residents, who require support in Postural Management. The service is provided by the Berkshire Healthcare Integrated Care Home Service. For more information on what service is on offer and how to make a referral Please see leaflet for further information. There is also a leaflet for individuals and their carers.

The 5 key messages to Prevent Pressure Ulcers – added January 22

A video aimed at individuals at risk of developing pressure ulcers to highlight  the importance of pressure care prevention, created by Shropshire Community Health NHS trust.

Pressure Ulcer Pathway – updated January 22

Guidance to help staff decide whether to refer to the safeguarding adults procedures is provided in the Berkshire Policy and Procedures, Appendix 5, this was updated in October 2021. This is a downloadable version of the safeguarding decision guide for pressure ulcers, Appendix 4.3 See also these leaflets: What happens if you don’t move around enough? and React to Red, includes simple steps to reduce pressure ulcers.

Postural Management Awareness Video

Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group and Berkshire Health Care Foundation Trust would like to share with you a short video raising awareness of postural management and a local pilot within our elderly and nursing care homes.

This video has been produced to improve access to support and safeguard individuals following multi –agency learning from case reviews.
